Books 1969 - 2021 by Hans-Peter Feldmann

Books 1969 - 2021 by Hans-Peter Feldmann

If there's one thing I can do right, it's watch.H.P.F

The Düsseldorf-based contemporary artist Hans-Peter Feldmann has been working with the medium of the book for 55 years and, in addition to his conceptual works, continuously produces artists' books. With 157 titles, Feldmann has presented a convolute, parts of which have been shown in exhibitions, in museums and galleries as well as at biennials and book fairs since the 1970s.

Handmade, mimeographed books such as notebooks, book folders or spiral-bound books come together with printed edition books published by Feldmann himself or by other publishers.

The book collection comprises 50 unique books, most of which are handmade and serve as models for edition books. Some of these are exhibited and in rare cases sold. The reappraisal of the artist's books not only shows their diversity, but also points to a large number of still unknown copies.
